My name is Michael and I'm from Sheffield in the UK.
English is my native language as I lived in the UK until I was 26 years old. As a result, I have a comprehensive knowledge of English culture, slang, and character as well as a lovely English accent!
I love Spain and the Spanish culture. Having travelled extensively throughout the Iberian Peninsula and Spanish islands I decided to move to Spain in 2016. Choosing to move to Spain was the best decision of my life. I started teaching English in 2017 and since then I’ve taught students of all ages from all over the world. I’ve taught in academies, summer schools, businesses and given private lessons in both Spain and the UK.
I think that it is important to make language learning fun. In my experience, students make the best progress when they are enjoying the learning process and looking forward to their classes. As a teacher, I feel responsible not just for the content of the class, but also how comfortable the students feel throughout all of the learning process. I think this is especially true for individual learners. I want to give classes that aren't just informative and fluid, but also enjoyable. As I've developed as a teacher I've been consciously aware of how my style has changed as I've learned to adapt to each new student and their individual needs. I now feel very comfortable in any teaching situation, although I do have an advantage in teaching Spanish speaking students due to my own progress in learning Castellano.
Having only been teaching for 3 years, I know that I myself still have a lot to learn. I can always become better. That being said, I'm currently very proud of the quality of the classes that I give, and now that I'm branching out into the world of online learning, I'm looking forward to learning something new from this experience too.
