I’m a qualified and registered teacher from South Africa. English is my native language and I’m also fluent in Afrikaans and basic sign language. I feel that the online platform is a great opportunity for children and adults to learn from the comfort of their homes. It’s also an amazing way to get to know people from all over the world. I have many years of teaching experience in a physical class and online. During my time as a teacher I have taught English to foreign learners and also to their parents, to help them better their language support to the learners at homes. I am qualified to teach students from all ages, language levels and backgrounds. I am familiar with many online teaching platforms, applications and technological soft- and hardware. I’m a dedicated, passionate teacher who thrives to give learners the needed confidence to believe that they can learn, despite the barriers they may face. I’m a firm believer that in the process of educating someone, it should always be as interactive as possible. I make sure lessons are prepared in a way that will interest and stimulate the learners. I pride myself in always being punctual and handling admin affairs very well. Furthermore, being positive about my work is my driving force. I work well with people and I always show the needed respect.
Hello! My name is Mr. Kat Rogan. I am a native English speaker from the United States and I have been a professional language trainer for over 14 years for all age groups and levels of learning. I started teaching English in China at Dalian Maritime University in 2006. Since that time I have traveled to many countries, and have met and talked to just about every nationality you can think of. As and traveler, educator, and avid learner, the biggest thing I can say I have discovered about myself during this time: I really love languages and cultures. For me, learning languages and about people and their heritage is the "spice of life." This is what truly drives me to be a better person, keep moving forward, and improve at all levels of my life - every day. It's interesting, during these travels and experiences of the past decade-and-a-half, I have learned how to say basic concepts and greetings in at least 10 languages, which is a lot of fun and a big talking point in my day to life. People often ask me what my favorite language is. And after English, of course, I would usually say, it would have to be. 2. Chinese 3. Spanish 4. Thai 5. Japanese 6. Italian 7. Russian And more. (don't forget my adopted brother from Portugal - what's up Duarte) There are many languages! And really love to talk about them! But, at the top of my list is Chinese. I spend a lot of time practicing Chinese. Being a 4000-year-old civilization, there are endless amounts of wisdom, knowledge and culture to be found in this language. So, for me, it's a lifetime journey/mission to understand more about this language, culture, and people. I also love Spanish. Born and raised in the United States, Spanish is my second language. I studied Spanish in high school and university, but I know I need to improve. Though I can understand quite a bit of what is being said in Spanish, my speaking does need some practice. Spanish is spoken quite quickly. So, I know how much I need to improve. I also know how important it is to keep practicing my speaking ability with Spanish, as with any language. Though I am not too bad at speaking languages, I do know the feeling of not being able to speak at the level I would like. So I keep trying to learn new methods and systems of learning. And I really like to learn more about people, and their cultures. This is why I love learning languages. And this is also why I really love my job as a language trainer, teacher, or coach. So I hope to make your acquaintance and have many lessons with you. Kat Rogan Qualifications & Experience My education encompasses a long career as a news reporter and journalist as a Mass Communication student from the University of Utah. I also have a degree in Business Management from Weber State University. My master's education is in Multi-Media Film, MFA. I specialize in all forms of professional communication in business, interviewing, writing, examinations, basic conversation, and kid's phonics training. And I am TEFL certified to teach children. Having been a language trainer and learner for 14 years, I have taught thousands of students from around the world. In my experience, I have developed dedicated lesson planning systems, specifically designed for the student depending on their needs. Interestingly, I have found many ESL students with difficulties reaching their true potential. I have also found traditional models of learning to be rather rigid and outdated for progressive thought in the high-paced technologically-driven communication world we live in today. These issues are very important when it comes to speaking at high levels or high-pressure situations. My system brings together the best learning programs into one comprehensive lesson planning system and is adjustable to each specific need and goal of the learner. Some of my classes have helped my students to pass entry exams, get great jobs, get into great universities, succeed at all levels of speaking, writing, and communication for professional and interpersonal use all while having fun. My classes are fun, and I really love teaching that's why I still do it after all these years. ACCENT REDUCTION~ BRITISH ENGLISH ~ BUSINESS ENGLISH~ PRESENTATIONS ~ CAMBRIDGE CELTA~ GAIN CONFIDENCE SPEAKING / LISTENING ~COMMUNICATION BASED TEACHING METHOD ~ IELTS~ ACADEMIC ENGLISH~ Hi guys, my name is Harry and I'm an experienced English teacher who specializes in Business English, Accent reduction and developing confidence and fluency in spoken, written and aural comprehension. I've been teaching English for 6 years both to individuals and groups. I have obtained the highly regarded Cambridge CELTA teaching qualification and also have lots of experience teaching people from different backgrounds and nationalities (especially hispanohablantes). My lessons are both well planned and fun. I Believe that speaking is the foundation for any language and that developing confidence and fluency in English are essential parts of the learning process. I have great experience in helping students reduce their accent and have assisted many students in developing a more natural and fluid way of speaking, enabling students to deliver successful presentations and enhance communication with both clients and colleagues. My lessons have a strong focus on encouraging students to use English effectively in order to build student confidence, as one of the great hindrances to acquiring a second language is confidence. I've been living in Spain for 13 years and speak Spanish fluently. I love teaching English and learning new things everyday about languages. When not teaching I love spending time with my dogs, walking in the country and when conditions permit surfing at my local beach. I'm looking forward to meeting you. Hola, Me llamo Harry.
Hello all and thanks for viewing my profile! Please allow me to tell you a little about myself. I have 3 TEFL certifications (20, 100 and120 hr certificates). I have been teaching English for nearly three years with over 2500 taught lessons and counting! Over the years, I've had a chance to visit several countries including Japan, Korea, Costa Rica and Taiwan. I've had an opportunity to teach different nationalities including people from Russia, Brazil, Spain, Japan, Korea, France, China, Ukraine and several other nationalities. I aim to treat each person as an individual. While it may work for some, I am reluctant to take a (one size fits all) approach. Needless to say, my students share the common goal of wanting to learn English but each of them has different routes they need to take in order to reach their common goal. Therefore, I don't believe in teaching everyone in the same way. I like to first talk with people and see what it is they need to work on the most. No need to waste time on things you already know. In addition, it gives us a chance to break the ice. (If you don't know this idiom, take a lesson to find out the meaning!) For those who don't know grammar, I am a strong believer in learning vocabulary and learning how to form sentences. You're able to learn several things along the way. For those who are on a more advanced level, I like to delve into topics of a deeper nature using articles, videos, TED Talks or whatever you wish to discuss. All students will have a chance to practice new words, phrases and pronunciation. I was a student of Japanese for around 10 years. I suppose I still am. So I understand what it is like to learn a new language and all of the challenges that come with it. Don't let those things worry you. My lessons are intentionally laid back, comfortable and easy to enjoy. Don't hesitate to take a lesson and see for yourself and we will start working on your goal right away!

I'm Hannah, 33, from the United Kingdom and after 4 years teaching in the classroom and online, I'm now very excited to be teaching with verbling! In 2015, I spent 6 months in Central America, working in rural communities and teaching children and adults. I realised I LOVE teaching English as a foreign language and started to pursue this career. I studied Psychology and Sociology (BSc) and Youth and Community Work (MA) at University and in 2016, I completed a CELTA (Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults) qualification in Barcelona. Since then I've been teaching children, teenagers and adults in private language academies. I have taught A1/beginners classes right up to C1 and proficiency level. I have experience teaching one-to-one and group classes, and enjoy both. What are you personal objectives? *Improve your fluency and/or pronunciation *Build your confidence *Increase your understanding *Build your vocabulary and expand your colloquial English knowledge *Read and write with more accuracy *Prepare for an exam My teaching style: 1. It's very important that my students SELF CORRECT whenever possible. Don't worry, I can help you too! 2. That the material I used is INTERESTING and engaging for my students- if there's something that you're particularly interested in, tell me! 3. PERFECTION DOESN'T EXIST. I'm learning Spanish so I know how frustrating it can be not to get everything right, but the most important thing is that you TRY! My passions include: languages, travel, mindfulness, animal welfare, dance, compassion and being in nature. What are you passions and interests?
